![]() This should give the Russians a better chance of making use of this tactic to help the Maxim overcome it's limitations and deny territory. I propose that we increase this range to match that of a Sniper (50), BUT any ranges above 45 should have terrible accuracy and only be good at suppression, to prevent it from being overpowered. Seeing as to how this has a very limited firing arc, is it not reasonable to increase the range just a little more? Right now, it's got the same range as an MG42, which is a range of 45. Only problem is, the range is a little too short to make this work well in more open maps like Langres. So that got me thinking that could be a great tactic to make the Maxim more effective. ![]() The video showed these Maxims as having a similar firing arc as the one in game, only thing is, they covered a longer distance. It's a tactic that required the firing arcs of intersect with each other and create a killzone that creates a barrier of bullets that cuts down charging infantry that try to go through it. ![]() The documentary called it, "Enfilade Fire". During a section explaining machine gun tactics, it explained how Maxim machine guns were used to lethal effect in WW1 when firing not from right in front of a charging enemy, but from the flanks. Hey guys, I was just watching a documentary from Scotland called, "The Machine Gun and Skye's Band of Brothers".
